AC Milan transfer rumours: Serie A club to bid €50 million for Harry Kane

Harry Kane scored 28 goals for Tottenham last season

AC Milan is eyeing for a winter transfer window bid for Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane, according to Corriere dello Sport. The bid is believed to be in the region of €50 million. According to The Mirror, Milan is the favourite for the star striker’s signature though Napoli are also interested after the sale of Gonzalo Higuain in the summer to Juventus.

Harry Kane, who has been the spearhead of the Spurs’ attack scored 28 goals for his club last season and was awarded the Golden Boot in the English Premier League. However, Tottenham insists Harry Kane is not for sale and the striker is happy at White Hart Lane.

The San Siro giants are believed to be pursuing several of Europe’s biggest names after the Chinese Takeover and the Englishman is believed to be the most sought after star among the names.

Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is a fan of his versatility and wants to pair Kane with Carlos Bacca upfront. The Serie A club rejected two bids believed to be worth in the region between £30m and £40m from Tottenham for star defender Alessio Romagnoli in the summer transfer window.

Napoli also want to sign Kane

The 23-year-old Englishman is highly rated in Italy and even Diego Maradona wants his former club Napoli to buy Kane to replace Gonzalo Higuain. “They need new faces and they need to sell Higuain for as much money as possible. Instead of Higuain, I would go for [Harry] Kane of Tottenham”, said the Argentine legend.

Higuain was shipped off to Juventus in the summer for a hefty price and Napoli is believed to be have made an inquiry about Kane.

The Spurs striker has not scored in this season’s Premier League but Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is not worried. “It was the same at the end of 2014-15. He went away with England U21s and the expectation was to win the European Championships. But he didn't score in three games and it was a big disappointment for him”- said Pochettino, “then he came back and scored 25 goals”, the Argentine manager continued.

The Tottenham boss is keeping faith in his star striker. “He needs to be calm. It’s always difficult after the Euros, and then the expectation from him is massive.” Pochettino said to The Mirror.

Tottenham face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday and Spurs fans will expect Kane to open his account against the Potters.
