Arsene Wenger: Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere are fit to start against Sunderland, Tomas Rosicky ruled out

Theo Walcott of England cries out in pain after he is brought down by Oleksandr Kucher of Ukraine during the FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifying Group H match between Ukraine and England at the Olympic Stadium on September 10, 2013 in Kiev, Ukraine.

Arsene Wenger confirmed that Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere have passed their fitness tests and are cleared to play in this weekend’s clash against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

However, Wenger also had an unpleasant news for the Gunners’ fans as they are set to miss out on the services of Tomas Rosicky. The Czech Republic midfielder was forced to leave the field halfway in their match against Italy on Tuesday after he injured his groin.

Walcott was brought down by a dreadful tackle from Oleksandr Kucher that damaged his ankle during England’s goalless draw against Ukraine while Wilshere was subbed off as he looked off the boil after having been a part of two all-consuming matches in five days.

The Gunners’ boss also revealed that Mesut Ozil, the new £42.5 million record signing from Real Madrid, will be playing a part in this weekend’s Barclays Premier League clash.
