Juventus manager Antonio Conte has claimed that his team is clear favorites to win the Serie A this season. The defending champions will be looking to make it three Serie A championships in a row when they kick off their season with a trip to Sampdoria.
“Juventus are surely the favorite team of this year’s championship,” Conte told reporters.
“It was the same last year because we had won the Scudetto the year before. Last season we proved on the pitch that we were the strongest team of the championship. This year we are the favorites again because of our recent victories, but I have to say that the favorites don’t always win,” he added.

Juventus strengthened their squad in the summer with the addition of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, and the manager said that he has full faith in his new signings.
Sampdoria defeated Juventus in both meetings last season and Conte believes that it will be a tough start.
“Last year we were defeated in both matches against Sampdoria, therefore I hope that we’ll have the chance to win for the first time tomorrow,” he said.
