Demba Ba snub sees Arsenal join Spurs as Mourinho continues window mocking

It appears that Jose Mourinho and Chelsea have successfully managed to unsettle both of our North London rivals during this transfer window.

First there was the hijacking of the Willian deal from under the noses of long time admirer Andre Villas -oas.

Then tonight just as it looked like Arsenal might secure Demba Ba on loan, Jose Mourinho stepped in at almost the 11^th hour to stop the striker moving to a rival.

This is a huge relief as I agree with Jose that this would be a silly move as explained in my earlier blog on the proposed move when it first emerged.

Arsenal should have seen this coming, however the loan of Benayoun a couple of years ago may have sent the message that these kind of deals can be done.

I’m not a huge fan of leading clubs on as it sets a poor precedent, maybe the lateess of the approach meant that the club were unable to discuss the matter with Mourinho in time.

Not a time to gloat. just a time for relief that this deal seems off.
