Didier Drogba's ankle injury limits Chelsea's attacking option for match against Arsenal

Didier Drogba out after sustaining an ankle injury

Chelsea face a problem in their strike force before their match against Arsenal, with Didier Drogba injured. Chelsea will be hoping Diego Costa or Loic Remy are ready in time for the match on Sunday.

Drogba lead the attack for Chelsea in the wins over Queens Park Rangers and Manchester United, due to Remy’s calf injury and Costa’s hamstring injury.

The 37-year old who is a United Nations Development Programme Goodwill Ambassador, had to withdraw from a charity match on Monday called the Match Against Poverty in St Etienne.

He wrote on Twitter: "Disappointed not to be able to play the #MAP2015 because of an ankle injury but still supporting #EbolaResponse."

Drogba has not made several starts this season and is currently used as a reserve striker by Mourinho. The king of Stamford Bridge has only made five starts this season, and would most likely not have featured in the match against Arsenal if either Loic Remy or Didier Drogba were fit.

"Our target was for Diego to play the last four matches and Arsenal is the sixth match from the end," Jose Mourinho said last Friday. "He starts training with rest of the squad next week."

Chelsea are currently ten points clear of their nearest competitors Arsenal, and a win against the Gunners could help the Blues wrap up the title at Leicester's King Power Stadium three days later.
