Divock Origi reveals what Jurgen Klopp told the team at half-time to inspire a victory

Divock Origi reveals Jurgen Klopp's magic words during half time

Liverpool pulled off one of the greatest ever UEFA Europa League comebacks against German side, Borussia Dortmund. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubayemang gave the visitors a 2-0 lead within 10 minutes but Liverpool dug into all their resources and produced an emphatic comeback to win the game 4-3.

Goals from Divock Origi, Philippe Coutinho, Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren transported the Anfield into a massive theatre of cheers, euphoria and tears. When asked what sparked this comeback, Origi specifically pointed out the conversation Jurgen Klopp had with the team at half-time.

"We were 2-0 down at half-time - and the coach said we had to create the moment to tell our grandchildren and make it a special night for the fans," the Belgian said. "And we believed in it.

"When we scored the first goal - we all felt it was going to be a special moment. At the end, you could see a defender scoring or a striker scoring - we were all fighting for the ball.

"I think we deserved the win."

Echoes of the famous 3-3 win over AC Milan rang around Anfield as Jurgen Klopp and his team had pulled off what seemed like an impossible task at hand. Borussia Dortmund, for all their hard work and talent, simply didn't have the desire the Reds had.

Liverpool are now in the final four of the UEFA Europa League along with Spanish sides Villareal and multiple-time winners Sevilla. Ukrainian club FC Shakhtar Donetsk also join the three of them in the final four. The draw for the semi-finals of the Europa League will take place later today along with the draw of the UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool have so far been unbeaten in the UEFA Europa League but are well behind the race for a UEFA Champions League spot in the domestic league. If they win the Europa League title, they'll automatically qualify for Europe's elite competition.
