According to The Telegraph, Indian side East Bengal FC players will face dope test ahead of their 2nd leg of AFC Cup semi.

A dope control team will be sent by the Asian Football Confederation and two players will be randomly chosen for testing.

Surprisingly, Dr Santi Ranjan Dasgupta, assistant secretary of the club, asked the players on Saturday to declare if they are taking any medicines prescribed by any doctor so that they are not caught off guard during the dope test.

Asked whether that meant the club was not sure about the medical history of players and what medicines they were taking, Dr Dasgupta clarified that at times players go to doctors on their own.

“It may happen that a player has gone to some doctor who is not the team doctor. We do keep records, but it may happen that someone is taking some medicine that we don’t know of. We want players to declare their prescriptions so that they don’t face any trouble,” he said.
