Statistics say that since the last three years, East Bengal did not win a single match at Goa against Salgaocar FC. They have lost all their matches against Salgaocar. Tomorrow when East Bengal play against Salgaocar FC, it looks like the biggest challenge in front of the Morgan brigade is to change their track records against Salgaocar at their home ground.

In the 2009-10 I-League season, Salgaocar won 4-1.In the following season, East Bengal ended their I-League campaign with a 3-2 defeat. In the last season, the Kolkata side were defeated by the Goan side 4-0. Though statistics are not good enough, after defeating the youthful Pailan Arrows 3-0 at Kalyani stadium, the Red & Gold brigade is very much determined to continue their winning run.

The whole team reached Goa yesterday. Tomorrow’s match will be held in the Duler stadium, in which Salgaocar have already beaten Air India 4-0. Meanwhile, East Bengal’s British coach, Trevor James Morgan, doesn’t want to think about the turf and his team’s statistics against David Booth’s team. Rumour have spread that Uga Okpara might come in to the team in place of Raju Gaikwad. Otherwise Morgan will go without changing his starting XI, compared to the last match against Pailan Arrows.

East Bengal has already beaten Salgaocar in their home ground 1-0, thanks to their striker Chidi Edeh. Now it will be interesting to see whether the Goan side can take revenge or the Kolkata boys can change their record.
