Fantasy Premier League predictions - Gameweek 8

Swansea City v Chelsea - Premier League

League leaders Arsenal and third-placed Chelsea have been handed plum home ties this week as we cast an eye on the Gameweek 8 schedule.

Arsenal host Norwich at home while 2nd-placed Liverpool make a trip to Newcastle United. Chelsea and Manchester United host Cardiff City and Southampton respectively. Elsewhere, Tottenham and Manchester City have tough fixtures away at Aston Villa and West Ham respectively.

The Outs -

1) Robin van Persie – The Dutch international, priced heavily at 13.9m, is not in the best of form this season and has just collected 24 points so far, 12 of which came in his first match against Swansea City. Manchester United have a tough game in hand against Southampton who have conceded just two goals this season.

2) Pablo Zabaleta – Manchester City face a rejuvenated West Ham side who defeated Tottenham 3-0 at White Hart Lane. The kind of form Joe hart is going through, it is highly unlikely Manchester City will keep a clean sheet at the Upton Park.

3) Joe Hart – Joe hart has been in terrible form lately, conceding easy goals in all three previous league matches. With Manchester City facing a tough away fixture against West Ham who put three past Lloris at White Hart Lane, we can expect a tough game for Hart.

Ones to watch out for -

1) Romelu Lukaku - The Belgian has been in flying form since joining Everton on loan, having put together 4 goals and 1 assist already. These numbers are likely to increase as Everton host a promoted Hull City at home.

Priced at just 7.8m, the Belgian is a good bargain for money.

2) Aaron Ramsey - Ramsey has been in the form of his life so far this season, scoring 4 goals and assisting twice thus far. Although Arsenal didn’t fare well against West Brom away, a home game against Norwich is the perfect way to get to winning ways again. Priced at a modest 6.6m, Ramsey certainly is an excellent addition at cheap money.

3) Branislav Ivanovic – A home clash against newly promoted Cardiff City affords Chelsea a chance for a fourth clean sheet of the season. Chelsea have conceded just once in their 3 home matches so far, with Ivanovic starting all of them. Priced at 6.5m, the defender also poses an aerial threat from set pieces.

4) Ross Barkley – The Everton midfielder has been instrumental in their good start to the season so far. Priced at a lowly 5.5m, he would be fancying his chances against a newly promoted Hull City at home.

5) Michu - A home clash against bottom-placed Sunderland offers a perfect chance for the Spaniard to get on the score sheet. Sunderland have already shipped in 16 goals this season and could be in for more as they travel to the Liberty stadium on Saturday.
