In an exciting second Round match of the Goa Pro League, I-League champions Churchill Brothers SC defeated Wilfred Leisure SC 3-1 at the Duler Ground in Mapusa on Saturday afternoon.T. Bineesh Balan, Yumnam Raju Mangang and Jaison Vales were on the score-sheet for the Red Machines while Melwin Fernandes got the consolation goal for Wilfred Leisure.
Churchill Brothers coach Mariano Dias and technical director Sukhwinder Singh made two changes to the starting line-up that beat Dempo SC in the opening fixture, with Micky Fernandes and T. Bineesh Balan replacing Lenny Rodrigues (International duty) and Henri Antchoeut (double yellow card suspension) respectively.
Bineesh Balan opened the scoring in the 17th minute from the penalty spot after he himself had been brought down by Bonny Niasso. A minute before the half hour mark Yumnam Raju Mangang capped off a wonderful run into the box with a brilliant finish. Churchill Brothers Goa headed into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Wilfred Leisure got back into the match in the 68th minute, when a brilliant through ball by Agnelo Colaco found Melwin Fernandes, who made no mistake in slotting the ball past Arindam Bhattacharya. But the Red Machines regained their two goal advantage just two minutes later when Jaison Vales smashed the ball past Wilfred Leisure goalkeeper Jovial Coutinho.
The 3-1 win against Wilred Leisure SC takes Churchill Brothers to the top of the table to six points from two matches.
