AS Roma’s Francesco Totti scores against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League Group E match.

Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad by AS Roma with Serie A legend Francesco Totti scoring the equalizer.

This was City’s first point in the group stage after losing to Bayern Munich on matchday 1.

Sergio Aguero scored in the fourth minute with a penalty to give the Citizens a lead. But Totti countered with a delightful chip over Joe Hart to even the score.

With this goal, Totti also became the oldest player to score in the Champions League, surpassing Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs.

Manchester City 1-0 AS Roma: Aguero (4’ – Penalty)

Aguero scored with a coolly taken penalty after Maicon brought down the Argentine striker in the box. The defender was shown a yellow card and Aguero sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to score the first goal of the game.

The Roma captain then equalized with a great piece of skill inside the box. Having stationed himself near City’s defensive back line, Radja Nainggolan fed him with a pass when Vincent Kompany was out of position. Totti ran into the box and then chipped the ball over City goalkeeper Joe Hart to score and break a record in the process.
