Inter Milan News: Fabio Capello bid blocked by FA

Inter Milan’s bid to prise Fabio Capello away from England towards the San Siro has been blocked by the English FA. The Nerazzurri supremo Massimo Moratti conceded defeat in his attempts to bring the England manager who was heavily linked with the job after failed attempts to bring in Carlo Ancelotti, Marco Biesla, Andre Villas-Boas and Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Fabio Capello, who has a contract running with the English FA until 2012, was reported to have expressed his interest in the Inter job due to his recent failures at England and willingness to manage a club before retiring from football management. However, with the Euro 2012 approaching, the English FA have blocked the bid. On the failure to land Capello, Massimo Moratti said,

“The English FA wouldn’t consent to his arrival.

“They blocked everything as they want to keep him with them at all costs”

Capello, who is an icon in Italian football for his successful managerial stints at Juventus, AC Milan and Roma as well as Real Madrid in Spain has been getting a lot of flak in the English press recently for his rigid defensive tactics which have produced little results with the England side. With Inter scanning the market for every available coach due to the sudden exit of Leonardo, the San Siro job looked like a way out for the much-maligned Italian coach. However, the FA are in no mood to let go of their manager before his contract ends and it looks like Inter’s search continues with fresh rumours surfacing every day.
