Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has reportedly become the target of Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger to lead the English club's attack next football season.

Wenger, after a disappointing season for the Gunners, which fell in the second round of the Champions League and in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup while settling in third place in the English Premier League (EPL), wants to rebuild the backbone of his team this summer, reports Efe.

As reported in the Daily Telegraph on Friday, Morata, 23, has become the "top summer striker target" of the French coach, who had tried to gain the services of the Spanish international two years ago.

There are rumours that Real Madrid could utilise their buy-back clause to bring Morata from Juventus and sell to the club offering highest price.

Arsenal will have to pay more than 30 million pounds sterling ($42 million) for the striker, who scored 25 goals in 87 appearances for Juventus.
