Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has rubbished rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool in the summer, insisting that he is happy at the Welsh club.

The Dutch international had reportedly told ‘Voetbal International’ magazine that he would be eager to reunite with former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool. Speaking to the club’s official website, the 29-year-old feels that his comments have been misinterpreted.

“The comments that came out of the interview from the Dutch press have been lost in translation. They asked me about Brendan, and I said I enjoyed working under him. Of course I did, he was the man that brought me here and we had a successful season.

“But I did not say I wanted to go to Liverpool or anywhere else – I am very happy here at Swansea. Not once have I told my agent or the chairman Huw Jenkins that I want to leave here.”

After having two great seasons with Swansea, Vorm has also been linked with a move to Barcelona and Arsenal. However, he denied any summer move and pledged his immediate future to Swansea City. Vorm added:

“This season has been incredible for us. We are doing so well in the league and, of course, we won the Capital One Cup which means we are playing in Europe next season. I’ve played European football before and it will be great for everyone at this club – the players, staff, directors, supporters and also the city of Swansea.

“Everyone is looking forward to being a part of that adventure – myself included – but first of all we must ensure that we finish this season strongly.”

Meanwhile, striker Fabio Borini insists he is not planning to leave Anfield this season despite having a torrid time in his first season at Liverpool. The former AS Roma striker has been unlucky in terms of injuries and his season ended after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the 5-0 win against Swansea in February. However, he is confident of proving his mettle at Liverpool in the coming season which would also bring him in contention for the national team for the 2014 World Cup. Speaking to Rete Sport, the 22-year-old said:

“It’s been a difficult season due to some unfortunate injuries, but these things happen and you can only accept them.

“This is not a totally wasted season, I hope to be helpful in these remaining four games and the 2014 World Cup is a big goal for me. In regards to my future, I’m not really thinking about next year, but I will stay at Liverpool because I have yet to prove that I can compete here.”
