According to the Marca, Manchester City is close to agreeing to a deal for Aymeric Laporte.The 23-year-old is one of the best young defenders in Europe. The French defender has a contract till 2020 at Athletic Bilbao and is a very important part of the Basque team.

While Basque side would not want to part with their prized asset but if City triggers the reported €65 million release clause on Laporte's contract, Bilbao would be helpless.

Manchester City has been constantly linked to Fred in the current window. The Premier League leaders are interested in signing the 24-year-old as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho.

According to Manchester Evening News, Wikipedia appeared to have confirmed the signing of the Brazilian midfielder. Wikipedia quickly amended the page but the Premier League leaders look set to sign the talented Brazilian.

Manchester City is intent on wrapping up the deal as soon as possible but reports state that they would have to wait until summer to secure services of the midfielder.

Manchester City are enjoying a 12 point lead at the top of the table. They are now awarding their star performers with new contracts as a reward for the successful season. The Premier League leaders have recently offered new contracts to Otamendi, Fernandinho, and De Bruyne.

According to Mirror, Raheem Sterling is next in line to get a new contract. The England winger has been in exceptional form this season as he has come with important goals throughout the campaign.

The 23-year-old is set to earn to £220,000 per week as basic wages. Incentives and bonuses can drive his salary up to £275,000 pounds per week. His new contract is expected to last till 2023.
