"Messi" comments made by Fabregas taken out of context

No doubt, you would have read headlines within the last 24 hours regarding a quote made by Cesc Fabregas about Lionel Messi. In some cases, these headlines have been taken totally out of context and Messi will not be coming to Chelsea!

We have seen Chelsea linked with Messi for two seasons now as firstly, we heard that Adidas wanted to take him away from the Nike backed Barcelona and they would be prepared to pay the majority of the transfer fee.

Then, we heard reports that his father had spoken of the possibility of him leaving the Catalan side and a possible move to England. You will note that those reports are dead in the water and we have heard nothing more.

So to Fabregas and these quotes made to Marca. The Radio Station asked Fabregas about Messi and whether or not he should join him at Chelsea and he responded by saying:

'I wish! Why not? I'd love that to happen. I'd be all for it.

As a Barca man, I believe that Messi deserves to retire there for all that he has given the club.

He is a legend that has changed Barca's history. But, as his team-mate and friend, without doubt I'd love to have Leo by my side.
