PSG star set to miss France vs Netherlands today due to thigh issues - Reports

Germany v France - International Friendly
PSG forward Ousmane Dembele has picked up a thigh injury

France are set to be without PSG forward Ousmane Dembele against the Netherlands, as he is down with an injury he carried over from his club. The star has been carrying a thigh injury for a while but is expected to be back for their next match.

Les Bleus are set to face rivals the Netherlands in their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers at the Johan Cruyff Arena. The Dutch have picked up three wins and a defeat in the group against the perfect five wins for France, who have 15 points.

PSG forward Ousmane Dembele is one of his country's leading attacking players due to his impressive range of skills and ability. The 25-year-old will be a big miss against the Netherlands as he has been sidelined by a thigh strain, as per L'Equipe.

Dembele suffered a thigh injury representing his club against Rennes last weekend, lasting 75 minutes before Bradley Barcola replaced him. Les Parisiens won the match 3-1 but saw Dembele suffer his first injury since joining.

The forward will not be a big miss for France as they have sufficient attacking depth, but they hope to have him back by Tuesday. Les Bleus will host Scotland in an international friendly at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Ousmane Dembele will be keen to turn his PSG fortunes around

PSG signed French star Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona for around €50 million, paying his release clause. He was signed just before Neymar left the club for Al-Hilal.

Dembele was handed the number 10 jersey at the Parc des Princes, taking the shirt from Neymar. The Frenchman has struggled alongside the rest of his teammates at the club since joining this summer, with no goals to his name.

PSG have not been at their best this season and are in third place in Ligue 1, two points behind rivals Monaco, who lead the way. The Parisians lost several experienced stars in the summer, including Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Marco Verratti and others.

Dembele has yet to fully find his footing in French football, having left his native France as a teenager in 2016. The forward has not had the intended impact on the pitch, with only two assists this season, both in the league.

While the 2022 FIFA World Cup finalists can do without the Frenchman, it would be a much more difficult ask for his club. The French champions need their marquee summer signing to turn his fortunes around at the club.
