Meanwhile, Los Blancos are interested in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. Elsewhere, Ancelotti wants Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison at the Santiago Bernabeu.

On that note, here's a look at the key Real Madrid transfer stories as on May 20. 2023:

Real Madrid are interested in Dusan Vlahovic, according to AS. The La Liga giants are looking to add more firepower to their attack over the summer after an underwhelming season.

There's a lack of cover for Karim Benzema, which has hurt the team this season. The French striker is in the final phase of his career, and Los Blancos are also eager to lay down succession plans.

Vlahovic has emerged as an option and has proved his pedigree with Juventus since arriving at the club in 2022. Real Madrid are pleased with the player’s performances and want to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The La Liga giants enjoy a cordial relationship with the Bianconeri, which could help a deal cross the line. The Serie A side are likely to cash in on the Serb to address their financial woes this summer.

Richarlison wanted at Santiago Bernabeu

Carlo Ancelotti wants Real Madrid to sign Richarlison, according to Defensa Central via The Hard Tackle.

The Brazilian forward has endured a forgettable season since joining Tottenham Hotspur last summer. However, his stock remains high, and Ancelotti is a fan of the 26-year-old. The Italian is already laying down plans for the summer and wants a reunion with his former player at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos want to sign Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe to bolster their attack, but Ancelotti is pushing for Richarlison. The Brazilian enjoyed a fruitful time under the Italian manager at Everton, and Ancelotti is convinced that the 26-year-old would be a hit at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Richarlison is likely to be available for €55 million, which also makes him a cheaper alternative for the La Liga giants.

Los Blancos are in transition phase, says Carlo Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti reckons Real Madrid are in transition, with younger players beginning to step up.

There have been calls for change after Los Blancos surrendered both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles this season. There are quite a few older players in the current team, and they're widely expected to make way for young blood next season.

However, speaking to the press, Ancelotti said that Real Madrid are already in the process of replacing the older generation.

"I don't think the transition will start next season. Before my arrival, this squad, which has done great things, started to lose pieces when Cristiano (Ronaldo) left in 2018.
"Since then, young players with a lot of quality have started to arrive. All the players end up being replaced by players with enormous quality. Vinicius after two years is an undisputed starter. (Eduardo) Camavinga has started to come in, Rodrygo from the bench,” said Ancelotti.

He continued:

"It seems that the transition has to start next season, but it has already begun. The youngsters are going to have more prominence. It will stop the day (Luka) Modric, (Karim) Benzema, Nacho (Fernandez) and (Dani) Carvajal stop playing for this team."

Ancelotti also shed light on his future, saying that he will remain at the helm next season.

"I think everyone knows what my situation is like and that I want to finish my contract. It is until 2024, and I want to continue. Yesterday we (Florentino Perez) had a meeting. He showed his support, and we spoke about Wednesday's game. We are moving forward with the same intention of doing things well,” said Ancelotti.

Los Blancos are close to securing the services of Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham, and other signings are expected to follow this summer.
