"There is only one truth" - Antonio Conte comments on his future at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of Manchester United clash

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has spoken about his future as Spurs boss prior to his side's encounter against Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager has endured a difficult period in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs have been in and out of form and Conte has voiced his concerns about the transfer business and vision of the club on numerous occasions.

Ahead of Saturday's game against Manchester United at Old Trafford the Italian manager has continued to speak with regard to Spurs and his future. He said (via Fabrizio Romano):

"For sure at the moment there is only one truth - I am committed to this club for another year."

Conte has been frustrated at Spurs

Conte joined Spurs with a reputation of being one of Europe's finest managerial talents, having won trophies in each of his former three club roles.

At Juventus, Conte won Serie A on three occasions along with the Italian Super Cup twice. The Italian then went on to win the Premier League and the FA Cup with Chelsea. After returning to Italy, he won the Serie A title with Inter Milan, putting a halt to Juventus' era of dominance.

Prior to his move to Tottenham, Conte had been linked with the Manchester United vacancy as the Red Devils had just dismissed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, Conte was dismissed as an option by the United board.

Club legend Gary Neville had previously commented on why Conte wasn't a good fit. Neville said (via Manchester Evening News):

"I wouldn’t bring Conte to United. He’s not a fit for United. I might be wrong but I don't think that he is."

Conte, however, wanted the job according to Fabrizio Romano. Romano tweeted the following amid speculation surrounding the Italian heading to Old Trafford:

"There’s no doubt on Antonio Conte decision since days. He wants Manchester United job and he’d be ready to accept."

Manchester United would eventually appoint German manager Ralf Rangnick as interim manager and plan to announce a permanent manager in the summer.

PSG have been touted as a potential destination for Conte. A managerial merry-go-round could ensue if current Parisian boss Mauricio Pochettino were to leave the French giants for the United job.
