No approach for Williams yet: Swansea chairman Jenkins

Ashley Williams (R)

Carling cup winners Swansea City insist that there hasn’t been an enquiry from any clubs regarding their captain Ashley Williams. Recent reports suggested that Arsenal were close to agreeing a move for the Wales captain but Swansea chairman has dismissed the speculation saying he has not received a single call for the player.

“While there seems to be constant speculation about Ashley Williams, I can honestly say that I have not had one call from anybody about him,” Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said.

“There have been all sorts of stories in the press about what is happening with Ash but I have never heard anything from anyone.” he added.

The former West Brom trainee has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Everton. The 28- year old has been impressive during his time at Swansea and was instrumental in the team’s successful Carling cup campaign last season, the first trophy in the club history.
