Paul Pogba signing "something special" for Manchester United says David De Gea

Paul Pogba is expected to make his second Manchester United debut against Southampton on Friday

Paul Pogba has been receiving a lot of welcome messages since his world record transfer from Juventus last week. On Tuesday, United’s player of the year for the past three seasons David De Gea welcomed Paul Pogba's record-breaking return to Manchester United and claimed it feels like the Frenchman had never left Old Trafford.

The France international left Manchester in 2012 to prove his worth. In the four years that followed, he did exactly that at Juventus by winning four Serie A titles in Italy. Although he was suspended for Sunday's Premier League opener at Bournemouth, the 24-year-old is poised to make his United debut on his second stint at the club against Southampton on Friday night.

Speaking about Pogba’s transfer, De Gea claims the players are all delighted with his arrival at Old Trafford. "He feels like this is his home and we are all really, really happy to have him again in Manchester. He's now with all his friends again in Manchester, with everyone here, and he looks like he never left the club. He's really good for the team.

The Spaniard continued by saying that the team has a great mix of young and experienced players in the ranks "I think it's good to have a mix of young players and experienced players.

“That's what we have in the team now and I think it's really good for the young players. They have done really well, they train very hard and it's really good to see." De Gea concluded.

De Gea and Pogba played alongside each other on just three occasions during their first year together at United but have developed into world-class talents since the midfielder joined Juventus in 2012.

Pogba left Manchester after growing frustrated with Sir Alex Ferguson due to a lack of playing time, but will return at the heart of Jose Mourinho’s side in the current season. The fans are hoping that Pogba’s arrival will take the club to the next level and bring that elusive silverware that has been missing since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Manchester united’s new recruits have already made an impact on their Premier League debuts on Sunday, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 25-yard strike settled the match in favour of United on Sunday. The Ivorian Eric Baily also made an exceptional debut against the Cherries and grabbed the Man of the match for putting a solid display in the heart of Jose Mourinho’s back line.
