French giants Paris Saint-Germain has agreed a lucrative sponsorship deal with Qatar Tourism Authority which will see the QTA promote Qatar as a travel destination by taking leverage on the club’s global brand.

QTA will also be associated with the club’s women’s football team and handball outfit and the deal is believed to be between €150m and €200m annually.’

“Tourism promotion is critical for Qatar to promote its economy, cultural heritage and offerings as a destination. By partnering with Paris Saint-Germain, Qatar also associates itself with Paris, a destination of choice with which we share a sense of prestige, ambition and excellence,” said Rashed Al Qurese, director of marketing and promotions at QTA.

The deal was first revealed back in December 2012, but the club didn’t officially confirm the deal till now. Also as a part of the deal the player will be seen on billboards posing in front of various locations in Qatar. The club said that the new partnership open door for new markets and wider audience and thereby stamping their place as a international brand.
