Re-union on the cards?

Real Madrid’s unsettled midfielder Sami Khedira could be on his way to Stamford Bridge next season as reports in Spain claim that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was told by the German that he will arrive in London at the end of this season, confirms Blues1905.

The midfielder was close to a move away from Real Madrid this summer window, but manager Carlo Ancelotti opted to keep him instead especially after Xabi Alonso’s departure to Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old’s contract with the Blancos will expire next summer, and it is highly likely that Chelsea will be eager to sign him for free.

Earlier, Germany Football Association's technical director Oliver Bierhoff had criticised Real Madrid over the manner they treated Khedira’s thigh problem.

"When Khedira arrived in Germany he already had those muscular problems. He was examined in Madrid by his club's doctors, but they did not view the injury as serious. The player then went to his private doctor here, doctor Müller-Wohlfarth, and he diagnosed a fracture in the right thigh", Bierhoff told Bild.

Khedira will now be forced to sit out for at least six and seven weeks.
