The FA have decided that Chelsea star Raheem Sterling won't face disciplinary action for an incident during his side's 4-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Evening Standard's Nizaar Kinsella reports that the FA aren't going to take action against Sterling following an investigation. The 28-year-old was spotted throwing an object back to fans while celebrating Cole Palmer's equalizer.

Chelsea's own TikTok account posted a video of the players celebrating the goal. Palmer infuriated Tottenham fans by putting his hand to his lips which led to objects being thrown.

Raheem Sterling was seen picking one of the objects and appearing to throw it back into the crowd, per LondonWorld. The incident was reviewed but it appears the England international won't face any action.

The Blues attacker has been crucial for Mauricio Pochettino this season. He's bagged four goals and two assists in 13 appearances across competitions.

Chelsea have a difficult set of games on the horizon, facing Manchester City on Sunday (November 12). They then travel to Newcastle United on November 25 before facing Brighton & Hove Albion after the international break.

Thus, they will be glad to have Sterling available for those games. He has bounced back from a disappointing debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's Raheem Sterling is omitted from Gareth Southgate's England squad

England manager Gareth Southgate named his 25-man squad for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta (November 17) and North Macedonia (November 20). Raheem Sterling was a notable absentee from the list of players.

The Chelsea winger also missed out Southgate's last two squads and hasn't played for the Three Lions since 2022. He's proven to be an asset for his national team over the years, managing 20 goals and 27 assists in 82 caps.

Southgate insisted that the door is still open for Sterling to earn his place back in England's squad. He said (via the above source):

"The door is 100% open, not only for Raheem but for other players that aren’t in this squad. So there is no doubt about that. We don’t need to know about his quality, his personality, he is a crucial part of why we’ve had the journey we’ve had over the last few years."

The Three Lions have already qualified for Euro 2024 as Group C winners following an impressive 3-1 win against Italy. Southgate can afford to tinker with his squad for their final two games against Malta and North Macedonia.
