If reports are to be believed, the two Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea are set to battle it out for the signature of Bayern Munich hitman Mario Mandzukic.

The Croatian has seen his future thrown into considerable doubt following Bayern Munich’s announcement of the signing of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund.

The forward has been fantastic for the German outfit scoring 33 goals in 65 appearances since his move in 2012.

However, considering the players Mandzukic will have to compete with for a regular spot in Pep Guardiola’s line up, it is likely the striker might be warming the benches come next season.

Arsenal and Chelsea, who have been suffering in the advanced area of the pitch this season, will see the 27-year old as an ideal fit to help the clubs vie for top honours this season.

Taking into account the €13 million fee the Bavarians paid for the former Wolfsburg hotshot, the English clubs will hope to snap him up in a cut price deal.
