Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Spain international Nico Williams. The Athletic Bilbao winger is set to become a free agent in the summer.

Williams, 21, is one of the most promising young attackers in the Spanish top flight and has made a good start to his current season. He has provided four assists in seven games in La Liga, where Bilbao are sixth in the standings after 10 games.

Overall, he has scored 12 times in 90 games across competitions for the Basque club but faces an uncertain future. He's into the final 12 months of his current deal, with no extension agreed yet.

That has attracted the attention of Premier League heavyweights like Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, as per 90min, and also Aston Villa. The reports says that Villa made an approach for the 21-year-old in the summer but were turned down.

Considering his contract situation ta Athletic, Williams would be free to open discussions with a foreign club in January regarding a free transfer in the summer. The player's versatility in wide attacking areas could make him an asset at both Liverpool and Chelsea.
