Rumour: Manchester United launch £20 million bid for Claudio Marchisio

Claudio Marchisio could be on his way out

Recent reports suggest that English giants Manchester United are set to splash the cash to sign midfield maestro Claudio Marchisio from Juventus to end their midfield woes.

United are willing to offer £20 million for the Italian, in a bid to get their season back on track and the 27 year old could just be the player they are looking for.

Juventus has been knocked out of the Champions League in the group stages only and thus have estimated a financial windfall of about £17m, and thus are looking to offload a player to make up for this.

Though Arturo Vidal is the priority of the Red Devils, but Vidal and Pogba are both considered the future of the Old Lady;s midfield and hence Marchisio is the one who is surplus and up for sale.

Marchisio although went on record to say that he wishes to stay in Turin and fight for his starting place despite no guarantee of playing time in the year crucially when it is the World Cup year.

“I want to continue winning with this jersey, I have no intention to change.

“But every year, especially in summer, there have been rumours that involved me.”In addition to this one, I have another two years on my deal with Juventus.”I hope to play as long as possible with this jersey, it’s not my intention to change.”

Manchester United who currently find themselves languishing at 7th in the league and already knocked out of the FA cup while the Capital One cup exit also looms ahead are looking to somehow get their faltering season back on track and might be looking for the answers to their midfield in the Italian.
