Angel Di Maria: France bound?

Manchester United might have suffered their second big blow in as many weeks when it comes to pulling off a marquee signing this summer.

Reported target Angel Di Maria is set to reject a move to Old Trafford, just like Chilean Arturo Vidal, as he now looks to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The Real Madrid winger is set to join the Ligue 1 champions after fee of £51 million was agreed between the two clubs. The Argentine will also bolster his earnings with the report suggesting that the winger will put pen to paper on a five year deal which will see him earn £6.3 million-a-year.

It was widely being reported in recent days that Di Maria was to choose between Paris and United, with the English club reportedly putting in a bid of around £40million to bring the talented winger to Old Trafford.

However, now it looks like that Laurent Blanc and co. have been successful in luring the ex-Benfica man away from the Santiago Bernabeu. Blanc neither confirmed nor denied reports linking the forward to his club, saying: "I'll leave you to speculate. At the moment, nothing is done. Are there negotiations? It's not for me to say, but for the board of the club," the Frenchman added.

Angel Di Maria looked to be one of the vital cogs in the Real machinery during the 2013/14 season under Carlo Ancelotti, but he now looks to be on his way out as Real try to balance the books after the club spent heavily earlier this summer on the recruitments of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez from Bayern Munich and AS Monaco respectively. His prolific play was crucial to Real lifting their record tenth European Cup last season.
