Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has admitted on a Japanese football show that he would like to return to his old club Borussia Dortmund. Kagawa joined Manchester United last summer for £17m.

“Someday, I would want to return to that team (Dortmund), I will be back someday…if Dortmund is okay with it,” the Japanese international said.

Kagawa made 26 appearances for United last season and found the back of the net on six occasions. However, Kagawa is not happy with his performance.

“It was a tough time for me with a lot going on in my head. I am not happy with my performance for the team at all. I didn’t score that much and I also had my (knee) injury,” Kagawa added.

Dortmund went on to play in the final of the Champions League last season, but Kagawa told that he does not regret leaving his former club.

“I was proud to see my former team play in the Champions League final, and I was very excited for them. But it didn’t make me feel I had made the wrong choice.”
