US Sassuolo v Juventus - Serie A

What's the story?

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be rested against Frosinone, despite the crucial Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid lurking in the corner.

In case you didn't know...

Despite being 34 years old, Cristiano is playing the most crucial role for Juventus' offence in the Serie A this season. Since his arrival to Turin from Real Madrid, the Portuguese sharpshooter is leading scorer in the Serie A with 18 goals.

As evident, Cristiano Ronaldo knows a thing about facing Atletico Madrid. Being one of the greatest goalscorers of all time, Cristiano has scored 21 goals and provided 8 assists against Atletico Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo is also the all-time leading scorer in the Champions League with 121 goals.

The heart of the matter

Juventus take on Atletico Madrid next midweek in the UEFA Champions League, but the coach himself confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo would be starting against Serie A side, Frosinone.

In his interview, Massimiliano Allegri told AS, "The team is doing well and all the lads are focused on the end of the season."
On questions regarding Cristiano's inclusion in the squad, the Juventus coach added: "From tomorrow we’re going into a nice run of games where we will be required to play a lot of matches. Cristiano will play from the start [against Frosinone]. We need to beat Frosinone because a victory will give us another boost ahead of the Champions League game"
Giving the team news for the rest of his squad against Frosinone, Allegri concluded, "Bonucci will play in defence. It will be difficult for Chiellini to start but if possible we’ll get him on for a while. Barzagli will also be on the bench. He has recovered well and we’re happy to have him back."

What's next?

Juventus won their seventh consecutive Serie A title in the 2017-18 season, but their quest for Champions League has failed in the recent years. The arrival of a player like Cristiano Ronaldo will surely motivate them and boost their chances against Spanish side Atletico Madrid next week.
