Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up. Today could be the day which finally sees the end of Paul Pogba’s long-running transfer saga to Manchester United. The Frenchman is currently undergoing his medical at Carrington Training Complex.

Arsenal are targeting a German youngster to bring defensive cover after Gabriel’s ankle injury while there is a new club in the race to sign Christian Benteke this summer.

Meanwhile, the actual reason for Real Madrid backing out from Pogba’s race has been revealed as well. On that note, here are the transfer news and rumours doing the rounds on August 8th.


Serie A

- Cagliari have reached a deal for Juventus wing-back Mauricio Isla, who could have a medical tomorrow. Sky Italia are convinced of the deal which suggests £4.5m transfer fee with Isla getting €700,000 per season for the next three years.

- Inter Milan have appointed Frank De Boer as their new manager after Roberto Mancini was sacked earlier this week. De Boer will be unveiled as the new Inter boss later today.

- AS Roma have completed Thomas Vermaelen’s signing on an initial 2-year loan deal from Barcelona. The Belgian international was also linked with a move to West Ham but Vermaelen agreed to join Serie A side. The move can be made a permanent one after the end of his 2-year loan move.

- Sampdoria are eyeing a move for Liverpool's Lucas Leiva, according to reports from Football Italia. Serie A club are determined to sure up their midfield with Chievo's Lucas Castro and Udinese's Bruno Fernandes as the other options.

- Carlos Bacca has met with his agent to force a move to West Ham this summer. According to Mirror, Bacca wants the transfer to be completed this week with Hammers being his number once choice. Bacca is also linked with Milan’s fierce rivals Inter Milan.

- Manchester City will listen to offers for midfielder Samir Nasri, according to Sky sources. Italian clubs AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Roma are interested in signing Nasri who is valued at £17m by the Citizens.

- Arsenal have contacted RB Leipzig over a deal for defender Lukas Klostermann, according to Bild. Arsenal were dealt a major injury blow last night after Gabriel suffered a broken ankle and Arsene Wenger is keen to add a defender before the end of summer transfer window.

Bundesliga

Draxler has publicly expressed his intention to leave Wolfsburg

- Bayern Munich forward Kinsley Coman has expressed his desires to stay at Allianz Arena even after an end to his 2-year loan spell from Juventus. Speaking with Sky Sports, Coman said: "I would love to stay here. It was one of my goals, when I arrived, to play here for a long time.”

- Wolfsburg’s sporting director Klaus Allofs has confirmed that there is a €75m release clause to Julian Draxler’s contract but it only comes into play next summer. Arsenal are linked with a move for Draxler but may have to wait until 2017/18 season if they want to land their man. Draxler has gone public in recent weeks with a view to force a move away from the club.

- Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has put a hold to the constant Jonas Hector’s rumoured move to Anfield. Following a 4-0 defeat vs Bundesliga side Mainz, Klopp said: “Neither Hector nor Odegaard called me and told me they want to be Liverpool players.” Hector is valued in the £20-25m region and could yet complete a summer switch to Liverpool.

- Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez is close to agreeing a move to Leicester City, according to Sport. A fee of €15 million has almost been agreed between the two clubs as Perez is set to become Ranieri’s second striker signing after Ahmed Musa.

- Barcelona expect to complete the transfer of Luan Guilherme de Jesus Viera before the end of the week, according to reports from Marca. Guilherme is also linked with a move for Liverpool and Leicester, however, Barcelona are a few inches closer to completing a deal for the Brazilian.

- Paris Saint-Germain have signed Jese on a five-year deal from Real Madrid. Jese became the fifth player signed for PSG after Hatem Ben Arfa, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Thomas Meunier and Giovani Lo Celso.

- PSG Chairman has put an end to Blaise Matuidi's rumoured transfer to Juventus. As per Bein Sports, Nasser Al-Khelaifi sees Matuidi as "heart" of the club and someone who cannot be sold.

- Dutch side Excelsior are close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea to take youngster Danilo Pantic on loan for the season. Voetbal International have claimed Excelsior expect soon to announce the signing of Pantic after holding talks with Chelsea.

- Galatasaray have rejected offers from PSV and Sevilla for star winger Bruma a scour close to the club told Turkish-football.com. The Portuguese international winger is also linked with a move to Manchester United.
