Uruguay players train ahead of their second game on Thursday

Uruguay and Venezuela face off in a crucial Group C match on Thursday. The La Celeste find themselves at the bottom of the table after their loss to Mexico in their opening game and will be desperate to take all three points from the match. Venezuela sit second in the table following their 1-0 win over Jamaica and will look to continue their impressive form.

The match will be live from 05:00 IST, 12:30 BST (Thursday). Watch live streaming of Uruguay v/s Venezuela on Sony Liv, FoxSoccer2Go or Premier Player . You can catch the live commentary on Sportskeeda. You can also watch the live telecast of Brazil v/s Haiti on Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD in India, Fox Sports in USA and Premier Sports in UK. The match will be played at the Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Uruguay will need to learn from their mistakes from the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Mexico and put the disappointment behind them. They had the worst possible start as they went behind to an own goal by Alvaro Pereira just 5 minutes after the start of the game. The Uruguayans looked completely lost in the first half as Mexico took hold of the match with their quick passing. To make matters worse, Uruguay went a man down just before half time. They did manage to equalize through Diego Godin but Mexico struck back twice in the last five minutes to bag all the points.

To add to Uruguay’s worries, coach Oscar Tabarez has confirmed that star striker Luis Suarez will miss the upcoming clash following his hamstring problem and suggested that he may not feature at all in the tournament. Suarez’s absence was felt against Mexico and Tabarez will want Edinson Cavani to step up for the team. The Barcelona striker has been out of action after picking up the injury in the Copa Del Ray final against Sevilla on 22 May.

Venezuela took care of business in their opener, securing a 1-0 win over Jamaica. It wasn't a dominant performance from Venezuela and they often looked exposed against a 10-man Jamaica, but they held on to secure the win.

The two sides have met 28 times until now, with Uruguay clearly having the bragging rights with 17 wins, 7 draws and only 4 losses. Venezuela has not won against La Celeste since the past 10 years.
