Sergio Aguero was awarded the Player of the Year award by the Football Supporters Federation

Argentinian international striker Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero was awarded the Player of the Year award by the Football Supporters Federation. The Manchester City forward beat the other six footballers on the shortlist, which included footballers Yaya Toure, Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Branislav Ivanovic, Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

In an interview with sponsors William Hill after winning the award, Aguero revealed that he was honoured to recieve the award as it came from the fans. This season too Aguero’s form has been top-notch, having already scored 12 goals to lead the Premier League scoring table. He also happily commented on his international counterpart and close friend Lionel Messi, when asked about the rumours about Messi’s departure from Barcelona and said:

It will be difficult, but I’ll try and convince him!’
