Gears of War 3 starts Christmas celebrations with Gearsmas

Last we heard Microsoft purchased the Gears of War franchise from its original developers Epic Games and had rolled out the authority into the able hands of Vancouver-based Black Tusk Studios (for more details on the matter read our detailed report here) and now Black Tusk Studio’s have brought the festive cheer of Christmas to the game.

As confirmed by IGN Black Tusk are providing gamers with the opportunity of rolling out Christmas themed punishment. They have organised a three-week holiday themed set of events that kick off today, with Hardcore Weekend.

Game Forum promises eventful “three days of meat grinding”

Equipped with all the fun and frolic of the festive season , the need to possess weapons have been eliminated thus there will be no weapons on the map, the weapons have been limited to gnashers and snub pistols only.

These events are designed and available for Gear of War 3 only and can be found under the regular special events playlist. While the playlists will be in a constant state of flux throughout the next three weeks, Black Tusk Studios promises that festive, slightly evil looking snowmen heads will be back for the event themed playlists. The snowmen heads are only available in Gearsmas playlists.

However Black Tusk promises daily updates both on the forum and on their social media, along with a steady rotation of events and the return of some familiar events from Gearsmas past and we will make sure to keep you posted on these advancements.
