Collin Morikawa’s wife sets “another PR” while golfer attempts to win his 3rd career Major at the PGA Championship

Collin Morikawa is out on course playing PGA Tour events, while his wife Katherine took to Instagram to show off her achievements. This happened after she set a new personal best record for a half marathon.

Katherine ran at the OC Marathon Running Festival. She ran her half marathon in 1 hour 38 minutes, with a pace of 7:32, which was a PR for her. With her impressive run, she managed to place 60th among 4836 females, and received an overall ranking of 366/9480.

She wrote in Instagram:

"Another PR!! Grateful for my friends that put up with my craziness! So proud of them!"

Katherne Morikawa is a frequent runner, and has previously posted about other marathons that she has taken part in. Her husband, Collin, often supports her at different marathons that she participates in.

Katherine also plays golf and tennis. According to People, she won her first amateur tennis tournament at the age of 13. Katherine later shifted her focus to golf and played collegiate golf at Pepperdine University.

Katherine won 16 Junior golf tournaments, including the likes of 2013 SCPGA Jack Kramer Memorial and the 2013 Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship. Katherine said that she wanted to play collegiate golf at Pepperdine University because (via Pepperdine Waves):

"First, I really like Coach Gibbs. I believe all good players have good coaches and I believe Coach Gibbs can help me become a good player. Second, Malibu has great weather conditions, which create a better environment for me to practice. Third, Pepperdine is a small school that is strong in both academics and athletics.”

Katherine and Collin Morikawa still continue to enjoy rounds of golf together, and she is often seen supporting his at various tournaments.

Katherine attended Pepperdine University and earned her degree in International management. During this time, she met Collin Morikawa who was then playing collegiate golf at University of California, Berkley.

The two hit it off in 2017, and have been together ever since. The couple dated for four years before they got engaged in November 2021. Proposing to his soon-to-be-wife was quite nerve wracking for Collin, who even said that he practiced it with his caddie.

Speaking via People, he said:

"[I was] way more nervous proposing. It's not even the same. It's not even in the same boat. It is so far gone. I mean golf I do it every day. It's normal. Proposing is not. That morning I practiced with my caddie in the Bahamas and we were on a cart and I was driving into ropes and going all over the place. It was nerve-wracking."

The couple got married one year later, in November 2022 in Los Angeles in an intimate ceremony.
