As Dabang Delhi prepare for their 2nd match this season, we look at 5 of their players who will be hold key when they take the court against Puneri Paltans on 24th July.

Jasmer Gulia

In a statement to the media ahead of their opening match, the Dabangs management announced that they have decided to rotate the capatain’s arm brand around during the course of the tournament. There is however little doubt that the undisputed leader of the group is Jasmer Gulia-one of the most experienced players & someone who orchestrates the team around him. A superb defender, he scored 39 points for Delhi in the first edition of Pro Kabaddi.

Internationally his resume boasts of a gold medal in SAF Games 2006, Asian Games 2010 and recent top place finishes at the Trivandrum National Games and India Police Games, 2015 and he will be looking to invoke a similar spirit and cohesion.

Surjeet Narwal

The star raider from last season was dearly missed in the opener and his return shall serve as a major boost to the Dabang squad. One of the top raiders in the country, his mere presence can be unnerving for opposition defenders. Having garnered 113 poits from 14 games last year, Surjeet believes scoring 10 or more points shouldn’t be an issue if he is fit. That, needless to say shall serve Delhi really well.

Kashiling Adake

Winner of the “Audience Choice Award” from the opener, Kashi, as he fondly referred to as by his teammates, is a livewire on the Kabaddi court. Last year, he was instrumental in both of Dabang Delhi’s wins over Puneri Paltans and if he can recover in time from the flu he has contacted, will be a major threat again.

Ravinder Pahal

The pillar of the Dabang defence, he showed exemplary skills against the Telegu Titans 2 days back. Having added the ankle hold to his repertoire, Pahal is a menace and it’s highly likely that Wazir Ali and Co would find it increasingly difficult to get past him.

Rohit Kumar

In his first ever outing for the Dabangs, Rohit made his mark converting some of his usually penetrative raids against the Titans. While he might have been a make – shift arrangement then, he certainly won’t be one day after. Young and energetic,he specializes in back kick and the power game and believes in taking out the entire hive of defenders while entering in the rival court.
