Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title seems to be a done deal for Wembley Stadium on April 29th, but top British boxing promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn don’t seem to agree on the possibility of the fight happening on the announced date.

Tyson Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren shared an update on the bout to TalkSport, revealing that the matchup is coming together:

“That would be the date for the fight. At one stage I wasn’t sure if Tyson would be fit for it, but he’s okay. The bottom line is they have both come out and said what they want to do and obviously we have to get the contracts signed. Everybody is working on that to get everything finalized. It’s on. Subject to the contracts being sorted out, everyone is on the same page. We just have to keep moving it along and I’m sure it will happens.”

When word of the fight being made got around the boxing community, fellow British promoter and Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn gave his take on the fight date to BoxingSocial:

“Im gonna say my opinion and if I’m wrong, everyone will play this back, but no, I don’t think it happens on April 29th. But I hope it does, he’s [Usyk] called his [Fury’s] bluff, so it’s over to Tyson Fury, I don’t think he’s gonna have a six week camp for a fight like that, who knows?"

Tyson Fury insults Oleksandr Usyk in explosive training video

Tyson Fury is no stranger to trash talk and belittling his opponents, whether it’s at a press conference or on social media. 'The Gypsy King' ended his six-month-long social media hiatus with a series of videos calling out Oleksandr Usyk posted to his Instagram stories.

After the news broke that the heavyweight championship fight between himself and Oleksandr Usyk was agreed, the WBC Heavyweight Champion pulled no punches and took to Instagram to kick off the pre-fight mental warfare.

He said in the video:

“We’re in the gym, we’re getting ready to smash Oleksandr ‘the b***h’ Usyk. The gappy teeth cat, ugly b***rd, you’re getting it. In six weeks time, you’re history. And I’ll still be the Gypsy King.
