Bryan Barberena recently released a statement confirming that his tenure with the UFC has come to an end after they decided not to re-sign the 185-pounder.

The 34-year-old didn't have the best of luck as of late as he was on a four-fight losing skid that included losses to Rafael dos Anjos, Gunnar Nelson, Makhmud Muradov, and most recently Gerald Meerschaert. With that in mind, the promotion might have decided to opt out of re-signing him and he is now free to negotiate elsewhere.

In light of his UFC tenure coming to an end, 'Bam Bam' posted an update on his Instagram account. He mentioned that he will be spending some time with his family before making any decisions on where he will resume his MMA career. He wrote:

"It's been a hell of a ride! My contract has ended with the UFC and I have not been re-signed. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying my family, farming, and drinking some Ridge Rum. A lot of opportunity out there to let the hands fly and hurt some feelings, so we will see where the Bam Bam Nation rises next. Thank you to the Bam Bam Nation, the fans, and those who enjoyed watching my fights. Thank you to the UFC, it's been a blast."

What is Bryan Barberena's UFC record?

Bryan Barberena has had a lengthy tenure with the UFC and competed against several current and former champions.

'Bam Bam' made his octagon debut in 2014 and would go on to compete at lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight throughout his tenure. He competed at 170 pounds for the majority of his tenure and fought the likes of Colby Covington, Robbie Lawler, Matt Brown, and reigning welterweight champion Leon Edwards.

Barberena had an exciting fighting style but unfortunately didn't end his tenure with a winning record as he departed the UFC with a 9-10 record inside the octagon.
