‘Super’ Sage Northcutt is itching to get back inside the circle. After nearly four years on the shelf, Northcutt is just a few short months away from making his way back into the circle. Northcutt will compete for the first time since May 2019 when ONE Championship makes its long-awaited debut in the United States for ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video.

Discussing his return to competition with renowned MMA journalist Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Northcutt said:

“I’m definitely itching to get back out there. I’m super excited. It’s been a long time. I’m super excited for it, yeah three and a half months man that’s gonna be hard to wait for that’s for sure.”

Sage Northcutt’s return goes down on May 5. Emanating from the 1stBank Center in Colorado, the historic ONE Championship event is scheduled to be headlined by a ONE flyweight world title trilogy bout between reigning champion Demetrious Johnson and former titleholder Adriano Moraes. Fan favorite Stamp Fairtex will be back in action as well, taking on Muay Thai sensation Anissa Meksen in an atomweight MMA bout.

Hoping to spoil Northcutt’s comeback will be Pakistani MMA champion Ahmed Mujtaba. Entering the bout with an impressive 10-2 record, Mujtaba is riding the momentum of back-to-back victories inside the circle against Rahul Raju and Abraao Amorim.

Sage Northcutt eager to remind fans of what he’s capable of

After nearly four years away from competing, Sage Northcutt is eager to remind fans of what he’s capable of inside the cage. Despite his disastrous ONE Championship debut in 2019, Northcutt had an impressive run in North America before making the move to ONE. He hopes to regain some of that momentum when he makes his walk to the circle on May 5.

“You asked about fans maybe forgetting or someone that might not know [me]. That’s the thing, I feel like coming into ONE Championship, I didn’t really get to show what I truly can do. And it was unfortunate what happened in my first fight with ONE Championship. But I’m coming off the UFC where I was fighting before, my last three fights consecutively, I was on a three-fight win streak.”

Undefeated in kickboxing, Northcutt carries an impressive 11-3 overall record in mixed martial arts. The multi-time karate world champion will look to make up for lost time at ONE Fight Night 10. Fans in North America can catch Northcutt’s return live and for free on Amazon Prime Video this spring.
