Less than 10 people are considered top boxing promoters, making 'The Sweet Science' a mainstream sport in the modern day.

When it comes to professional boxing, the fighters who risk their health and reputation deservingly receive the spotlight of greatness. Yet, the superstars of the past and present wouldn't be as well known without the promoters who ensure fans worldwide tune into their events.

Over the years, the boxing promotion industry has been controlled by a handful of people from Don King to Eddie Hearn. Nowadays, six promoters primarily share the spotlight to help grow one of the greatest combat sports of all time.

Who are the top boxing promoters in the world?

At 92 years old, Bob Arum continues to showcase world-class boxers as the founder and CEO of Top Rank Boxing. The once-rival of Don King has worked with many legendary boxers throughout his career, including Muhammad Ali, Oscar De La Hoya, Manny Pacquiao, and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Next up is one of the youngest top boxing promoters in the game, 44-year-old Eddie Hearn. The Chairman of Matchroom Boxing received a jumpstart in the sport because of his dad, the founder of Matchroom Barry Hearn. Since then, Hearn has created his legacy by promoting Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor, and many more.

In 2015, Al Haymon founded Premier Boxing Champions, which recently signed a new broadcasting deal with Amazon Prime Video. Haymon promotes a handful of boxing superstars to this day, including Deontay Wilder, Errol Spence Jr., and Caleb Plant.

The founder of Queensberry Promotion, Frank Warren, is also well-respected as a top boxing promoter. Warren has worked with some of the best fighters outside of the US, including Tyson Fury, Amir, and Ricky Hatton.

When it comes to boxers-turned-promoters, few have succeeded as much as Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions. De La Hoya has helped work with Ryan Garcia, Jaime Munguia, Marlen Esparza, and Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Last but not least, the legends of boxing promotion can't be forgotten, regardless of their controversy. Those who deserve their credit for paving the way are Don King, Lou DiBella, Tom Loeffler, and Richard Shaefer.
