With Truck Series driver Corey set to make his NASCAR Cup debut later this weekend, Brad Keselowski had a cheeky remark about the youngster standing in for Erik Jones.

Legacy Motor Club's No. 43 Toyota driver Jones sustained a back injury during the NASCAR Cup Series GEICO 500 race at Talladega Superspeedway. Being involved in an all-Toyota crash during the later stages of the race, Jones was transported to the infield care center after the incident but was later shifted to a hospital after complaining about pain in his lower back.

With him ruled out of the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400 race at Dover Motor Speedway, Truck Series driver Corey Heim is set to stand in for the 27-year-old. A former Rookie of the Year, Heim is only in his second full season with Tricon Garage as he prepares for a high-profile Cup debut.

Ahead of the Cup race in Dover, veteran driver and RFK Racing team owner Brad Keselowski was questioned about his opinion of a young Corey Heim piloting Erik Jones' No. 43 Toyota. The 40-year-old driver had a tongue-in-cheek response in him, as he stated (via Frontstretch):

"Seeing somebody else drive the car, I mean, I've never seen somebody else sleep with my wife but I'd imagine that'd be what it's like. Terrible feeling."

Brad Keselowski rates Corey Heim very highly

The 2023 season saw Corey Heim win multiple races over the course of the season and qualify for the Truck Series playoffs. A crucial victory in Bristol sealed his berth in the Championship 4 field, where Heim could only finish 18th after his incident with Carson Hocevar.

Despite his unfortunate result in the 2023 season-finale, Brad Keselowski has been rooting for Corey Heim. While unpacking a bunch of Panini America cars during the off-season, the RFK Racing driver stated, via the aforementioned source:

"Corey Heim, up and coming superstar. That one I would put in the corner, that one’s going to be worth something."

Keselowski's two most recent outings in Texas and Talladega ended in a runner-up finish for the former Cup Series champion. The veteran driver will now turn his attention towards the Würth 400 race at Dover Motor Speedway on Sunday, where he will aim to convert his near-misses into a triumph.

A string of top-5 finishes in the last two NASCAR Cup races has seen Brad Keselowski rise up to 14th position in the NASCAR Cup Series standings. He has 254 points to his name after 10 races.
