Shannon Sharpe is an NFL Hall of Famer already, but he's also quickly growing into one of the best analysts in all of sports. Though he often butts heads with co-host Skip Bayless (sometimes in serious fashion), Sharpe credits the enigmatic analyst with his media career.

He revealed his thoughts on SiriusXM:

"I don't have a career really in the media. Yeah, I have my stint at CBS. And I want to thank Sean McManus for giving me that opportunity. Tony, they believed in me, I didn't have a whole lot of experience. I came right off the field. And they gave me an opportunity to do that. So I appreciate what they did for me for the decade in which I was at CBS. But I was miscast."

He admitted that he needed Undisputed with Bayless to be able to do what he does now. He has a host of platforms, but it probably all started when he joined Bayless on FS1:

"I needed this format. I need a format where I can talk about a lot of different things and give my opinion at that point. And so Skip gave me this opportunity. And the platform that I have Club Shay Shay podcast and Skip and Shannon: Undisputed, and more people know me now from Skip and Shannon: Undisputed than they know me in all my 14 years that I played in NFL."

Sharpe is one of the best tight ends in the history of football, but he's perhaps more known for his role in the media than anything else these days. It seems as if Skip Bayless can be thanked for that.

When did Shannon Sharpe get inducted into the Hall of Fame?

Shannon Sharpe played 14 seasons in the NFL, all but two of which were as a member of the Denver Broncos. He retired in 2003 and was inducted to the Hall in 2011.

He began his media career in the mid 2010s with his Undisputed career beginning in 2016. It blossomed from there and Sharpe has since become one of the biggest personalities in sports.
