Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills won the AFC East division and made the playoffs on the back of a five-game winning streak to end the regular season. As they gear up for the playoffs, their division rivals, the New England Patriots, have mutually parted ways with Bill Belichick.
Although it is widely considered that Sean McDermott's position as Bills head coach is secure because the team has made the playoffs, Chris Broussard disagrees. He believes the Bills should pursue Belichick if they once again crash early in the playoffs.
Broussard said:
“Sean McDermott you know I've been saying he should be on the hot seat if they don't win this playoff, this first game. I mean look they were Super Bowl or bust at the beginning of the season, and now we're dropping expectations because of the way it happened?...
"I kind of stopped thinking about it because I was like the Patriots will never trade him to Buffalo but he's a free agent now. If you're Buffalo and you go out early, why in the world are you not getting Belichick?
"As great things were today with him and Kraft, he's still competitive, ‘I don't hate Mr. Kraft but I want to beat the daylights out of the Patriots every time I play them.’”
Since Belichick is now a free agent, the Buffalo Bills can get him without Robert Kraft's approval. While it seems like a far-fetched idea, the legendary Patriots head coach can certainly bring the best out of Josh Allen's team and lead them to a Super Bowl title.
Josh Allen and the Bills need to go on a big playoff run
Josh Allen and the Bills will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wildcard Round. They made the playoffs after almost everyone thought their season was over, and it shows how great of a team they are.
Despite significant player injuries, they made it to the playoffs, but now they need to make a statement. Allen must capitalize on the fact that the Bills are the most in-form team heading into the playoffs.
The Kansas City Chiefs no longer appear to be the same lethal team that they have been, and Lamar Jackson is yet to prove that he can play great in the postseason. This opens the way for the Bills to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history, something they are more than capable of doing this year.
