"Tell Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless they need to watch what they say" - Jaire Alexander sends warning after destroying Justin Jefferson

Green Bay Packers v Chicago Bears
Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander was on a roll on and off the field.

The Green Bay Packers cornerback had a tremendous outing in his team's 41-17 thrashing of the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Alexander lined up against Vikings' star receiver Justin Jefferson for the entire game and held him to one catch for 15 yards, his season low in both categories. But he wasn't content with the win alone.

Post-game, Alexander called out Fox Sports analysts Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, saying:

“Tell Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless they need to watch what they say when they talk about me, you feel me? They need to watch what they put out. Talking about, ‘He a good corner.’ I’m a great corner.”

In the lead-up to the game against the Vikings, Alexander played down the prospect of the Packers' defense focusing on containing Jefferson, who caught 11 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns in Minnesota's Week 1 win over Green Bay. He said:

"He (Jefferson) is a really good receiver. But at the end of the day, I'm a really good corner. We've got really good corners. We've got really good linebackers, D-line, whatever it is. You don't want to put too much focus on that one person because it's like, the first game, that was a fluke."

The cornerback backed up his trash talk on the field. He hit the 'Griddy', Jefferson's signature celebration, on the wide receiver after breaking up a pass to the Vikings star.

Alexander's mind games evidently got under Jefferson's skin. The Vikings receiver was lucky to stay on the field after he accidentally hit a member of the officiating crew with his helmet in the back:

Jefferson will likely get a fine for his actions in the coming days.

Packers playoff chances: Jaire Alexander and Green Bay stay alive after fourth win in a row

The Green Bay Packers needed a minor miracle to keep their playoff hopes alive, and they've managed to pull it off. They've won four straight games and have improved to 8-8.

The Packers' road to the playoffs is simple. They will host division rivals, the Detroit Lions, in Week 18 at Lambeau Field. A win in that game will see them secure a wildcard berth with a 9-8 record. Aaron Rodgers and company have somehow managed to keep their playoff dreams alive and now have their destiny in their own hands.
