Aaron Rodgers' playing situation appears to have dragged on for the last two years. Will he play in Green Bay or won't he? After going into a darkness retreat to come to a decision on his playing future, the Packers had to wait on the four-time NFL MVP.

While many are fixated on what Rodgers wants, what about the Packers? Do they want the quarterback to return in 2023 or do they want to press ahead with Jordan Love?

Rich Eisen, who was covering the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis for NFL Network has revealed that he was told from multiple sources that the Packers don't want Rodgers to return in 2023.

He said on The Rich Eisen Show:

"Number two on the list of rumors i head at the combine, the Packers sure hope Aaron Rodgers doesn't want to come back. They sure hope that when he comes up with a decision, it is I wish to retire or I wish to be traded elsewhere. They do not want his response to be lets run it back."

So it appears that after two years of being held to ransom, according to many, the Packers are in a place where they seemingly want to cut ties. Now this is just rumors and what Eisen has heard at the combine, so it remains to be seen if there will be any truth to it.

But he did say he heard it over and over again, which leads many to think that the Packers are finally ready to part ways with Aaron Rodgers.

If the Packers star returns to the organization and says that he wishes to remain, then it will make for interesting viewing as to exactly what Green Bay does.

Per Eisen, the organization is hoping that the decision will essentially be made for them by Rodgers. This can be done by him either retiring or wanting to be traded. The problem with being traded is that any team wanting his services will need to swallow his huge salary.

The teams on the list that could do that are likely to be small, but it appears that the saga of will he or won't he could be coming to an end and for the Packers organization, it feels like now, more than ever, they want a fresh start.
