The Pittsburgh Steelers have endured a difficult start to the 2022 NFL season. Transitioning to life without franchise legend Ben Roethlisberger has been rough and the franchise currently sits 28th in overall points scored. With the team needing to make amends quickly, it seems like wide receiver Chase Claypool will be one of the stars who'll be allowed to walk out the door due to sub-par performances.

As per ESPN, Claypool could be put on the trade block ahead of deadline day. Teams have until November 1 to wrap up business on the trade front after which all deals will become active from the start of the 2023 NFL season.

Claypool burst onto the scene in 2020 amassing nine touchdowns in his rookie season. But in the 2021 campaign, he looked like a far cry from his usual self, recording only two touchdowns.

Claypool has often been criticized for his lack of game awareness. Perhaps no incident better describes this than his premature celebration last season against the Minnesota Vikings that cost his side valuable seconds.

Mike Tomlin at risk of losing vaunted record as Steelers HC

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Mike Tomlin have long enjoyed a fruitful working relationship over the years. Appointed back in 2007, Tomlin went on to guide the Steelers to their most recent Super Bowl success back in 2009 against the Arizona Cardinals.

But what is perhaps Tomlin's most impressive feat is his record of most consecutive non-losing seasons (15). As things stand, though, Tomlin's magical run could soon come to a screeching halt.

The franchise currently sits bottom of the AFC North after losing four out of a possible six games played so far. And things are only set to get harder for Tomlin's side as they face the Miami Dolphins and undefeated Philadelphia Eagles up next.

Their division rivals the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals are thriving under young QBs Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow respectively. There is a risk that coach Tomlin might see a few more losing seasons in the years to come.
