5 TNA roster members WWE should sign

2017 Hall of Fame!? One can hope I suppose

Jumpstart the WWEBoth the WWE and TNA have come off of poor years. 2015 saw RAW receive its worst ratings in almost 20 years, a time when Mabel and Nash were at the top of the card. Desperate times indeed.TNA was forced to change networks yet again as Destination America dropped the promotion. TNA has moved to tv guide channel ‘POP TV’ in the United States as it attempts to resurrect itself yet again. Now, WWE has decided to expand its horizons beyond lethargic muscleheads (Luther Reigns) and onto good in ring workers - Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Seth Rollins and the like. WWE’s new thought process has seen them sign the best talent from other companies (see: A.J. Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura from NJPW, Tyler Black and Kevin Steen ,ie,Rollins and Owens from ROH and so on).The list will focus, not on young talent that WWE can enhance, but also on stars that will help fix WWE’s lagging ratings and bring in some money at the earliest. With TNA struggling to pay talents and company morale at an all time low, I present the top 5 TNA roster members WWE should sign:

#5 Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle is, as we speak, on a retirement tour with TNA. He is handpicking his opponents as he enters the final few weeks of his tenure with the company. For years, rumours have persisted that Kurt will sign for WWE, but the opportunity never came to pass despite Angle being in favour.

Now, with him winding up his TNA tenure, I feel it is the perfect time for WWE to bring Angle back. Give him a run of a few months, culminating in a special match at WrestleMania and a subsequent Hall of Fame induction.

2017 Hall of Fame!? One can hope I suppose

Kurt can still go in the ring and can tear the house down with a wide variety of Superstars in the WWE. Perhaps WWE could do an Angle vs Cesaro feud with Cesaro getting the rub. Another possibility is maybe Angle managing Chad Gable and Jason Jordan (think world’s greatest tag team #2).

His amazing mat ability means Kurt is almost guaranteed to have amazing matches. Should WWE sign Kurt, excitement and interest in the product will rise, which let’s be honest, is ‘best for business’.

#4 The Hardy Boyz/Team Xtreme

The Hardy Boyz will always hold a special place in the hearts of WWE fans for their TLC series with the Dudleyz and Edge and Christian. Both Matt and Jeff were successful as a tag team and even in singles competition. A return for the Hardy Boyz would result in an earth shattering pop, similar to the one the Dudleyz recieved. There is a multitude of ways for WWE to use the Hardyz.

As much as I love the New Day, only one team truly belonged in this segment

Jeff’s insane popularity could lead to him becoming an upper-midcarder and helping talent get over. More than anything else, the Hardyz would bring a buzz that has been missing from WWE for a long time and could, if used properly, boost ratings without hogging the spotlight.

#3 Kharma / Awesome/ Amazing Kong

Kharma’s first time in WWE didn’t go according to plan. An unforeseen pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage meant she could never fully be utilized by the WWE. However, with the Divas Revolution underway, WWE should look to re-sign Kharma so as to ignite more interest in the Divas.

The Divas on the main roster - Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte are of a similar mould to Gail Kim, but in my opinion, superior to her. Matches against the aforementioned would definitely help Divas overcome the stigma surrounding their division.

Kharma - a true beast among women wrestlers

It is worth noting that with Nia Jax and Bayley having an amazing match despite Jax’s limitations means that a program between Kharma and Bayley would be absolutely amazing and undoubtedly invoke comparisons to the Sting vs Vader matches in WCW that were the ultimate example of how to book ‘big vs small’ matches.

#2 The (American) Wolves

Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards are fantastic athletes and amazing pro wrestlers. With WWE’s tag division going through a renaissance, the Wolves would help take the division to the next level.

Matches against the New Day, the Usos and the Lucha Dragons are mouth-watering, to say the least. The current TNA tag champs and former ROH tag champs bring something different to the tag division. The sooner WWE realizes this, the better.

‘Big Money Match’

The Wolves can also be split up (they are both former ROH world champs), but one thing is for sure - no matter who they face, the Wolves will always put on a great, jaw-dropping show that will attract people to the WWE product.

#1 Bobby Roode

Yes, I think EC3 is a tad overrated, but it is important to note that WWE’s pettiness will end up stopping them from signing him. Thus, I present to you, the no.1 option. Bobby Roo(oooo)de.

Of course, Roode was a part of WWE as a jobber, but now it is time for him to be brought in to challenge at the top of the card. Bobby Roode brings instant credibility to any feud. His matches prove that he is a diverse worker and his attitude makes it clear that he has no problem in putting people over.

Former TNA world champ, Bobby Roode

Roode’s greatest strength lies in his versatility. He has excelled as both a tag team and singles competitor, as both face and heel. Such versatility means he can be used in a wide variety of ways by WWE as they attempt to improve sagging ratings.
