What happens now for Dean Ambrose?

A heel turn seems like the logical way to go

A WrestleMania showdown on the cards? When we look back at pay-per-view events of 2016, remember how lane Fastlane was. While I was happy with the Chris Jericho-AJ Styles match, little else on Sunday night did anything to inspire me or whet my whistle as WrestleMania 32 is now officially on the horizon. While I had hoped the main event Triple Threat Match between Dean Ambrose, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns had a few moments, nothing screamed “excellent” and left me wanting more.A LOT MORE!When there is such an anti-climactic buzz surrounding what fans already knew, it becomes hard to sell a match that for all its “meaning” was just a window dressing for Reigns to get his belt back. Lesnar was there for show and Ambrose, while wrestling in his home state, got the shaft and deserved better.Any momentum the “Lunatic Fringe” had going into the match was squashed like a German Suplex from the Beast Incarnate. We all know Reigns will face Triple H for the WWE World Title in what can only be described the weakest formality and the worst kept secret in professional wrestling history. Lesnar will more than likely face Bray Wyatt and there is now a better than even chance that Undertaker faces John Cena in a legends match.Lost in all of this is Ambrose, who now does not have a dance partner. Once again, all that momentum flushed down the toilet. What happens to Ambrose over the course of the next six weeks will be one of the more pressing questions to answer by WWE.Here are a few thoughts as to what the company will do with his character.

#1 A Heel turn

A heel turn seems like the logical way to go

Now that he has lost twice to Reigns and has missed out on getting a shot at the WWE World Title, there is nothing left for him to do when it comes to his association with Reigns. They are good friends, but even better as enemies.

I like the idea of their friendship continuing until WrestleMania 32 and then possibly a heel turn that costs his “brother” the world title shot and sets up a rivalry after Dallas.

#2 Alberto Del Rio

A solid three-match program between the two sounds promising

Del Rio lost again to Kalisto and the United States Title in the process. I doubt there is another match in this rivalry and Del Rio himself needs a new dance partner.

Enter Ambrose.

The Mexican Aristocrat and the Lunatic Fringe would give fans a solid three-match program and would satisfy my desire to see solid booking. There is no title on the line, but this is not a feud that needs stipulations for it to be successful. Whether the League of Nations gets involved or to what degree can be decided later.

#3 Brock Lesnar

Lesnar makes for a perfect dance partner for the unhinged Lunatic

If WWE decides it does not want to send Bray Wyatt on a road to Suplex City, fans would love to see another match between these two.

The one thing Ambrose does when he is in the ring with Lesnar or when he is taunting the beast, is he brings attitude back to the company. No one else does that effectively anymore. We all saw how Ambrose taunted Lesnar in the ring, asking for more of a beating. It worked and the crowd went wild.

Hopefully, WWE keys in on this and continues to fight.

#4 Samoa Joe

The Samoa Submission Machine vs The Lunatic Fringe

I would pay good money for this one. WWE is going to call Joe up to the main roster after WrestleMania, or so it is rumored. Why not make it sooner rather than later and give us all something to get excited about?

Joe needs a high profile feud to kick off his stay on the top level and Ambrose does this. Joe and Ambrose would make for some great chemistry as Joe’s brawling style with his ability to wrestle like a cruiserweight is perfect for the contrasting style of Ambrose.
