Anand on the Forbes cover

When World chess champion Vishwanathan Anand entered into the International scene, no one would have thought that this young boy would be able to accomplish what he has now. Almost three decades have passed and even today at the age of 40, he is giving top Grandmasters a run for their money, which includes many GMs who are significantly younger than him.

Recently he was featured on the cover page of the Forbes magazine, which reaches out to 40 million business decision makers each month. No doubt it plays a significant role regarding their financial and business related matters.

Now if you are thinking what has Vishy got to do with business? I have only one word to say – Strategy. Its nothing but the strategy that marks both the success and the downfall of a particular person, be it a Business guru or a Chess player. The longevity and resilience of his glittering career serves as an inspiration to today’s business enthusiasts. The patience and calmness with which he plans his moves is commendable. No doubt the moves are right.

One more thing which is worth appreciation, is his ability to retain his placidity in the harsh and competitive world of Chess. The ways with which he handles his success and failures, how he rises from the lows and builds his confidence, are worth adopting for good.

This is another feather in his cap, which must be pretty heavy by now, i am sure. I hope and believe he will continue to shine and will successfully defend his World Title in 2012.
