Eight Indians in the top 100 in Squash World Rankings

For the first time ever eight Indians feature in the top 100 of the PSA & WISPA April World Rankings.After fine performances in the Chennai Open, India’s Siddharth Suchde and Harinder Pal Sandhu have entered the top 100 of the Squash World rankings. They join National Champion Saurav Ghosal who also rose a rung to career-best 28th spot.Siddharth moved up 12 places to be at 90th position pushing him to the second spot among the list of Indians, surpassing compatriot Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu.

Joshana Chinappa & Dipika Pallikal also reached their best ever rank of 30 & 43 respectively in the WISPA rankings after their main draw appearances at the Chennai Open last month. Joining them in the top 100 are juniors Anaka Alankamony, Aparajitha Balamurukan & Anwesha Reddy.

The surge in our players ranking over the past year is due to the continued support by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the International Sports Division which support players and tournaments for the Indian probables participating in the Commonwealth Games 2010
